Ready to go all in? The Stellar is Hapū Helpers' most comprehensive home insemination kit built for those who are fully committed to their TTC journey. With enough supplies for 9 complete at-home insemination rounds, it's the best-value self insemination kit available in Australia, and at $104.76 AUD it qualifies for free AU-wide shipping.

Whether you call it an insemination kit, a conception kit, a baby making kit, or just "the thing that's going to help me get pregnant" - The Stellar has everything: insemination syringes, 50 ovulation strips, sterile specimen cups, pregnancy tests, and your choice of disposable Softdisc or reusable Origin disc. Nothing missing, nothing to restock mid-journey.

Created by women who conceived through the process themselves, every item has been handpicked with comfort, clarity, and confidence in mind.

Is The Stellar right for you?

The Stellar is the kit for you if:

  • You've been on your TTC journey for a while and want to stop worrying about running out of supplies
  • You're using a known or anonymous sperm donor and want a complete artificial insemination kit ready for every cycle
  • You're an LGBTQ+ couple or solo parent who wants the most thorough at-home insemination set available in AU
  • You want the best cost-per-round - at under $14 per attempt, The Stellar is the most economical option in the Hapū Helpers range
  • You want the kit that qualifies for free shipping automatically

If you're just beginning your journey, The Dinky covers 3 rounds. For 6 rounds, The Mezzo is the middle ground. The Stellar is for those who are in it for the long haul.

What’s inside:

9 round-tipped insemination syringes - our soft-tipped syringe is the core artificial insemination device in the kit, designed to place sperm gently near the cervix for intracervical insemination (ICI) at home. Sometimes called a sperm injection kit or sperm insert kit.

9 sterile specimen cups - for clean sperm collection at home before drawing into the syringe.

50 premium LH ovulation test strips - more than any other insemination kit in AU. 50 strips covers your full 9 rounds with strips to spare for double-testing your fertile window each day.

9 disposable Softdiscs (or 1 reusable Origin disc) - the Softdisc is a well-known fertility disc used to keep sperm positioned close to the cervix after insemination. It can be worn for hours post-insemination, comfortably and discreetly.

10 HCG pregnancy test strips - for testing around 10–14 days post-ovulation.

Is this an IUI kit? What about IVF?

These are the three terms people most often search when looking for what The Stellar does and they mean different things:

IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) happens entirely in a clinic. Eggs are retrieved, fertilised in a lab, and an embryo is transferred back. It cannot be done at home. If you've searched "home IVF kit" or "IVF kit" - what you're actually looking for is a home insemination kit like The Stellar.

IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) also requires a medical professional, as sperm is placed past the cervix directly into the uterus using a catheter. Home "IUI kits" online are actually ICI kits including ours.

ICI (Intracervical Insemination) also called intravaginal insemination (IVI) is what The Stellar performs. Sperm is placed at the entrance to the cervix using a round-tipped insemination syringe. It's safe, effective, and the standard method for all legitimate home insemination kits. This is exactly what Taryn and Kat used to both conceive at home.

So if you've been searching for a home IUI kit, ICI kit, or IVI kit, The Stellar is your answer.

Do I need a sperm donor?

The Stellar includes everything except the sperm itself. It's designed to work whether you're using a known donor (a friend or family member), an anonymous donor through a fertility clinic, or a partner's sperm. If you're navigating the donor process for the first time, we've put together a guide to help - read our donor article here. What The Stellar gives you is the complete artificial insemination equipment to do the procedure itself at home, in your own time.

- Our largest kit, ideal for longer TTC journeys or multiple cycles
- Supports sperm placement and retention during insemination
- Everything you need, nothing you don’t

How to Do At-Home Insemination with The Stellar (9-Rounds Guide)

Your 9-round kit for clarity, comfort, and control. Whether it’s your first cycle or you’re well into your TTC journey, this guide will walk you through how to use each item in your Stellar Kit - step by step.

1

Track Ovulation with LH Strips

Start by identifying your fertile window using the 50 included ovulation test strips.

Here's how:

  1. Begin testing around Day 10 of your cycle (Day 1 = first day of period).

  2. Collect urine in a clean specimen cup.

  3. Dip a test strip for 5–10 seconds — don’t go past the MAX line.

  4. Lay flat and wait 3–5 minutes.

  5. A positive result means the test line is as dark or darker than the control — ovulation is likely within 12–36 hours.

💡 Tip: Testing once or twice a day helps you catch the LH surge.

2

Prepare for Insemination

Once your LH test is positive, plan to inseminate that day and again the next.

You’ll need:

  1. 1 sterile specimen cup

  2. 1 round-tipped syringe

  3. 1 Softdisc (or reusable Hapū Helper/Origin disc, if selected)

How to inseminate:

  1. Collect the semen sample into a specimen cup.

  2. Let it sit for 15–30 minutes at room temp — this allows it to liquefy.

  3. Use a round-tipped syringe to slowly draw up the semen (avoid bubbles).

  4. Gently insert the syringe into the vaginal canal and press the plunger to release near the cervix.

  5. Stay lying down with hips slightly elevated for 15–30 minutes.

3

Insert the Disc

To help retain the semen post-insemination, insert a Softdisc or your reusable Origin disc:

  1. Pinch the disc in half.

  2. Gently insert it into the vaginal canal, angling toward the tailbone.

  3. Tuck the front rim behind the pubic bone.

  4. The disc can be worn for several hours or overnight to reduce leakage and maximise sperm contact near the cervix.

4

Wait and Test

About 10–14 days post-ovulation, use one of the 10 included HCG pregnancy test strips to check for early pregnancy.

How to test:

  1. Use first morning urine for best accuracy.

  2. Dip the strip into a urine collection cup with your sample.

  3. Wait 3–5 minutes.

  4. Two lines = potential positive. One line = not yet.

💡 Repeat testing a few days later if the first test is negative and your period hasn’t arrived.

Repeat for Up to 9 rounds

Your Stellar Kit includes enough for 9 full insemination attempts, so you can keep tracking, trying, and trusting the process — cycle after cycle.

Frequently asked questions

How does The Stellar differ from The Dinky and The Mezzo?

All three kits use the same quality components. The difference is round count and value: The Dinky covers 3 rounds ($50.66), The Mezzo covers 6 ($73.85), and The Stellar covers 9 ($104.76 and ships free). The Stellar also includes 50 ovulation strips vs 10 and 30 in the smaller kits.

Is this a home IUI kit?

Technically, it's an intracervical insemination (ICI) kit which is the at-home equivalent of what many people call a home IUI kit. True IUI requires a medical professional. The Stellar performs ICI: placing sperm at the cervix using a soft insemination syringe, which is safe to do yourself at home.

Can I use this kit with donor sperm?

Yes. The Stellar is widely used with both known donors and sperm from fertility clinics. The kit includes sterile specimen cups for safe collection and storage before insemination.

Is home insemination legal in Australia?

Yes, at-home insemination is legal in AU. If you're using a donor, it's worth understanding the legal framework around donor agreements. We have a full guide on AU donor legalities in our Learning Centre.

Can same-sex couples and solo parents use this kit?

Absolutely. The Stellar was created by Taryn and Kat - a same-sex couple who both conceived at home using this method. It's designed for anyone building a family, regardless of relationship structure.

Where can I buy an insemination kit in AU?

Right here. Hapū Helpers is Australian based that ships to multiple countries across the world. The Stellar qualifies for free shipping automatically.

Does this work as an IVF kit at home?

IVF cannot be performed at home, it requires a clinic. But if you've been searching for a home IVF kit, The Stellar is most likely what you're looking for: a complete home insemination kit that covers the full process of self insemination from ovulation tracking through to pregnancy testing.

Is home insemination safe?

Yes, at-home insemination is generally safe when using sterile, single-use equipment and following proper instructions.
ICI is a non-invasive procedure and the method used in at-home insemination kits globally.

How many insemination attempts does it take to get pregnant?

Everyone's journey is different. Studies suggest ICI has a per-cycle success rate of 10–20%, similar to natural conception. Having 9 cycles of supplies means you can keep going without interruption.

Do I need a doctor for at-home insemination?

No, you do not need a doctor to do artificial insemination at home. Simply follow the step-by-step procedure above and watch the video for better understanding.
