Frequently asked

About pregnancy testing tools.

What does 10 mIU mean?

hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is the hormone pregnancy tests detect. Tests with a sensitivity of 10 mIU/mL are designed to detect very low levels of hCG and may identify pregnancy earlier than standard tests. However, hCG levels vary between individuals, which is why testing closer to your expected period often provides the most reliable result.

When is the earliest I can take a pregnancy test?

Some highly sensitive pregnancy tests may detect hCG several days before your expected period. However, testing too early can increase the chance of receiving a false negative because hCG levels may not yet be high enough to detect.

What is the difference between First Response and HcgDetect strips?

Both tests detect hCG. First Response tests offer the convenience of midstream and digital testing, while HcgDetect strips provide an affordable and highly sensitive option for those who prefer to test multiple times.

What should I do if my test is negative but my period hasn't arrived?

If your period is late and your test is negative, wait 48 hours and test again. hCG levels can rise quickly in early pregnancy, and some women implant later than others.

Can I test at any time of day?

For the most accurate early testing results, we advise using the first morning urine to test because hCG levels are often most concentrated after sleeping.

What does a faint positive pregnancy test mean?

A faint positive usually means hCG has been detected, but the hormone level is still relatively low. This can happen during very early pregnancy. Testing again after 48 hours will provide a clearer result as hCG levels continue to rise.
