Tried the no disc kit for the first time and got a positive result. The process was easy and comfortable. If you have vaginismus, I would definitely recommend giving this a try.

Some people can't use an internal disc and that's completely valid. Whether you have vaginismus, pelvic pain, sensory sensitivities, or simply prefer a more straightforward approach to at-home insemination, the No Disc Kit was built for you.
It's a complete self insemination kit for 9 full rounds, containing every core piece of artificial insemination equipment you need: insemination syringes, sterile specimen cups, ovulation strips, and pregnancy tests. No internal device required, no compromise on quality.
One of our customers with vaginismus used this kit and got a positive result on her first try. That's exactly the kind of journey this kit is designed to support.
Who uses the No Disc Kit?
This disc-free insemination kit is the right choice if:
- You have vaginismus, vulvodynia, or pelvic floor pain that makes internal disc insertion uncomfortable or impossible
- You've tried a Softdisc before and found it difficult to insert or wear
- You prefer a simpler approach to home insemination without any internal devices
- You already have an alternative post-insemination routine you're happy with
- You're just starting out and want the most straightforward insemination kit available in AU
If you'd like the same kit with a disc included, The Stellar covers 9 rounds with Softdisc or reusable Origin disc options.
What is an insemination disc, and do you need one?
A Softdisc (or conception disc) is a flexible device inserted internally after insemination to help hold sperm close to the cervix and reduce leakage. It's included as standard in our Dinky, Mezzo, and Stellar kits.
However, discs are not medically required for successful home insemination. Many people conceive without using one. Simply lying with hips elevated for 15–30 minutes after insemination achieves a similar effect. A disc is a helpful addition, not a necessity.
The No Disc Kit is built on that principle: a complete, effective at-home insemination kit that doesn't require any internal device beyond the insemination syringe itself.
How to support sperm retention without a disc
After insemination with the syringe, try these simple techniques to maximise your chances:
- Lie on your back with a cushion under your hips for 15–30 minutes
- Avoid standing or using the bathroom immediately after
- Relaxing and staying still is often enough as sperm are strong swimmers
Many people who conceive through at-home insemination never use a disc at all. The No Disc Kit gives you everything else that matters.
What’s inside:
✓ 9 round-tipped insemination syringes - the core artificial insemination device in the kit; sometimes called a sperm applicator, sperm injector, or sperm insemination syringe. The round tip is designed for comfortable, gentle self insemination without causing discomfort.
✓ 9 sterile specimen cups - for clean sperm collection at home before syringe insemination.
✓ 50 premium LH ovulation strips - 50 strips gives you room to test twice daily across your fertile window for all 9 rounds without running short.
✓ 10 HCG pregnancy test strips - for testing 10–14 days post-ovulation.
Is this a home IUI kit?
The No Disc Kit performs intracervical insemination (ICI) which is the at-home equivalent of what many search for as a "home IUI kit." True IUI requires a clinic and medical professional. ICI places sperm at the cervix using a round-tipped insemination syringe, and is safe to perform yourself at home.
Using this kit with a sperm donor
The No Disc Kit works equally well with a known donor or with donor sperm from a fertility clinic. The sterile specimen cups allow for safe collection before syringe insemination. If you're navigating the donor process, our AU Donor Agreements & Legalities guide covers what you need to know.
- Designed for simplicity and ease
- Ideal for those who don’t need or want a Softdisc
- Pairs well with our Origin disc if you choose to add support later
How to Use the No Disc Insemination Kit
Your essentials-only kit for up to 9 at-home insemination rounds — with everything you need to track, time, and try confidently, without a Softdisc.
Track Ovulation with LH Test Strips
Start by identifying your fertile window using the 50 high-quality LH (Luteinizing Hormone) strips included.
How to use:
Begin testing around Day 10 of your cycle (Day 1 = first day of your period).
Collect urine in a sterile specimen cup or a dedicated urine collection cup
Dip the strip into the sample for 5–10 seconds (do not go past the MAX line).
Lay the strip flat and wait 3–5 minutes.
A positive result means the test line is as dark or darker than the control line — ovulation is likely in the next 12–36 hours.
💡 Aim to inseminate on the day of your positive test and again the following day.
Collect the Semen Sample
Use one of the 9 included specimen cups for semen collection.
Allow the sample to rest for 15–30 minutes at room temperature to liquefy — this improves ease of drawing it into the syringe.
Load the Syringe
Use one of the 9 round-tipped syringes provided.
Slowly draw the semen into the syringe, taking care to avoid air bubbles.
Once loaded, keep the syringe tip upright and avoid touching any surfaces.
Inseminate
Choose a comfortable position — lying on your back with hips slightly elevated (a cushion under your lower back works well).
Gently insert the syringe into the vaginal canal until it feels comfortably placed.
Slowly press the plunger to release the semen near the cervix.
Once done, remove the syringe gently and remain lying down for 15–30 minutes to allow the sperm time to travel.
Wait and Test for Pregnancy
After insemination, wait 10–14 days post-ovulation to take a pregnancy test using the included 10 HCG strips.
How to use:
Use first morning urine for the most accurate result.
Collect your sample in a clean specimen cup.
Dip the test strip for 5–10 seconds.
Lay it flat and wait 3–5 minutes.
One line = not pregnant; Two lines = potential positive!
💡 If your result is negative and your period doesn’t arrive, test again in a few days.
Frequently asked questions
Is this kit suitable for someone with vaginismus?
Yes, the No Disc Kit was specifically designed to be disc-free, making it a much more comfortable option for people with vaginismus, pelvic floor dysfunction, or vulvodynia. One of our customers with vaginismus used this kit and conceived on her first try. The insemination syringe is the only thing inserted, which many people with vaginismus find manageable.
Do I need a disc for home insemination to work?
No. A disc helps by keeping sperm near the cervix post-insemination, but it is not required for conception. Lying with elevated hips for 15–30 minutes after insemination achieves a similar effect. Many people conceive without ever using a disc.
How is this different from The Stellar Kit?
The No Disc Kit and The Stellar Kit are identical in everything except the disc. The Stellar comes with 9 disposable Softdiscs or a reusable Origin disc. The No Disc Kit leaves that out entirely but still offers same 9-round supply of syringes, specimen cups, ovulation strips, and pregnancy tests.
Is this a home IUI kit?
The No Disc Kit performs intracervical insemination (ICI), which is the at-home version of what many people search for as a "home IUI kit." True IUI must be done clinically. ICI is equally effective as a home method and is what all legitimate home insemination kits including this one perform.
Can I add a disc later if I want to try one?
Absolutely. The No Disc Kit pairs well with our reusable Origin disc or disposable Softdiscs, available separately. So you can start disc-free and add one later if you change your mind.
